Editorial policy

Avega exists to be useful and trustworthy. This page explains how we work so you can judge our coverage for yourself.
Accuracy & sourcing
We build explainers from primary sources wherever possible — official specifications, regulatory filings, company statements, and peer-reviewed research. We link to those sources so you can verify our claims. Figures that change over time (prices, equipment specs, sky events) are dated, and we revisit them on a schedule.
How we evaluate products
For buyer’s guides, our rankings synthesize the consensus of expert reviews, manufacturer specifications and verified owner feedback — together with the first-hand experience of our editor with the telescopes and astrophotography gear he actually owns. We describe the trade-offs of each pick honestly, including who a product is not for. A brand cannot pay to be included, ranked higher, or described more favorably.
Independence
Our revenue (advertising and affiliate commissions) is kept strictly separate from our editorial judgment. Commissions are identical or irrelevant across the products we compare, so we have no incentive to recommend one over another for financial reasons. See our affiliate disclosure.
Use of AI
Avega is written and edited by Magi Haruto, who uses AI tools to assist with research, drafting and editing. Every published article is reviewed and fact-checked by a human who is responsible for its accuracy. We do not publish unreviewed AI output.
Corrections
Mistakes happen. When we find a factual error — or you tell us about one — we correct it promptly and note significant changes. Spot something wrong? Email us via the contact page and we’ll take a look.
